Course

This course is intended for non-native teachers of other subjects who wish to develop their own English Language Skills.  It will blend general language development with a focus on pedagogy and certain teaching methods and contexts. We will look at the theory and the practice behind some of the lessons we provide. The course will aim to meet the course participants language needs and to help support them on their journey as an independent language learner.

This course will also encourage participants to think of the way lessons are delivered and to begin to reconsider the implications of certain choices that a teacher makes both in the planning and delivery of lessons.

The Language Component includes:
  • Integrated skills and sub skills
  • Vocabulary in context
  • Grammar and use of language
  • Pronunciation, stress and intonation
Workshop examines,
  • Classroom Language + E-learning
  • Vocabulary for Maths and Science
  • Vocabulary for P.E., History and Geography

A minimum of an A2 English Level is required.

10 lessons (100-120’ each) course + afternoon programme / week.

School is located on central Dublin near the top attractions; Dublin Castle, Trinity College, Christchurch Cathedral and Temple Bar. It is easily accessed by all forms of public transport.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Whiskey Museum, the EPIC Museum and James Joyce centre are all within walking distance.
IALC, EAQUALS, MEI and ACELS accredited. The School is an official exam centre, study facilities with teacher assistance, free WI-Fi, printing facilities and café.

Family

One of the best ways to learn more about the people of Ireland is to choose homestay accommodation. All homestays are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure consistently high standards and a warm welcome.

 All homestays are located in the Dublin suburbs, with an average travel time to the city centre of 30-40 minutes by bus or train. Homestay accommodation is half board (includes breakfast and dinner) during the week and full board (includes breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the weekend.

Set right in the heart of Dublin city, Binary Hub offers super stylish student accommodation.

This fantastic residence is only a 20 minute walk from the year-round school, as well as from Dublin Castle, Trinity College and Temple Bar. The National College of Art and Design is an even speedier 6 minute walk. If you fancy the extra half an hour in bed, just hop on one of the many city centre bound buses from right outside your front door on Thomas Street.

The classic en-suite rooms boast a small double bed, a modern en-suite shower room, plenty of storage and a well-equipped, shared lounge/kitchen/diner. There are 5 rooms per apartment.
