Reykjavík is far more than just the capital of Iceland — it’s a place where innovation, nature, and Nordic culture come together to create a truly inspiring learning experience.

From the moment you arrive, Reykjavík captivates you with its colourful architecture, creative atmosphere, and the striking contrast between modern city life and untouched natural beauty. It’s a city where learning extends beyond the classroom: into conversations in cosy cafés, cultural discoveries in world-class museums, and unforgettable moments beneath the northern sky.

Whether you’re exploring the vibrant streets of the city centre, relaxing in the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon, or discovering Iceland’s breathtaking landscapes of volcanoes, waterfalls, and glaciers, Reykjavík offers the perfect setting to develop your teaching skills in English while experiencing one of the world’s most unique and forward-thinking cultures.

Our training programs in Reykjavík are designed not only to educate, but to inspire. You’ll connect with educators from across Europe and beyond, exchange ideas and best practices, and return home with renewed motivation, fresh perspectives, and memories shaped by the extraordinary energy of Iceland’s capital.

Discover how movement, play, and mindfulness activities can enhance learning and well-being in early childhood education. This course focuses on the Play to Learn More (PTLM) methodology, an innovative teaching approach developed by Kristín Einarsdóttir and Sarah Jane Anthony based on over 20 years of European research. Designed for educators working with children aged 2–7, this program uses storytelling, yoga, and sensory games to build cognitive, social, and emotional skills. Through practical sessions, participants experience games and calming activities that foster inclusion, confidence, and focus. You’ll visit Icelandic kindergartens to observe outdoor learning and explore how schools integrate movement into daily routines. With a focus on teacher well-being, participants leave with strategies to support diverse learners, increase engagement, and create interactive, child-centered classrooms.

Expected Outcomes

  • Develop play-based strategies to teach early concepts effectively.
  • Apply multisensory learning techniques for diverse classroom needs.
  • Integrate physical movement, yoga, and mindfulness into routines.
  • Promote social-emotional development and well-being for children.
  • Observe Iceland’s holistic approach to education during school visits.
  • Plan and adapt PTLM strategies for short- and long-term classroom goals.
  • Build networks for collaboration and future Erasmus+ projects.
