Lisbon is a city of contrasts that come together in perfect harmony. Perched along the Atlantic coast, Portugal’s sun-soaked capital offers a uniquely inspiring setting for your teacher training or language learning journey.
As you stroll through the city’s picturesque streets, lined with pastel-colored buildings, tiled façades, and vintage trams, you’ll feel the rhythm of a place where learning feels effortless. Whether sipping espresso in a shady praça or listening to the soulful notes of Fado music in Alfama, Lisbon invites you to immerse yourself in English through authentic, everyday interactions.
But Lisbon isn’t just beautiful, it’s also a dynamic, forward-thinking city, rich in culture and ideas. With its lively cafés, cutting-edge museums, and inclusive, welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to exchange teaching experiences, recharge your creativity, and connect with educators from across Europe.
When the learning day ends, the city continues to teach: through its seaside sunsets, bustling markets, historic castles, and warm, open-hearted locals. Lisbon stays with you long after you’ve left, not just as a destination, but as an experience that shapes both your personal and professional journey.
Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand, use, and manage one´s own emotions in positive ways to
relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. This competence has a surprisingly powerful effect on our lives, from our capacity to foster long–term relationships with friends to whether we’re able to succeed in school. Managing our emotions as well as understanding others is vital when interacting within both the professional day–to–day with colleagues, students, parents and society. Since 2020 we have been facing a global pandemic which caused a huge intrusion in all relationships. And between teachers and students too. While teaching was already a challenging profession, COVID–19 has pushed aside some of the heartwarming, relational positives of teaching and replaced them with stress and e–learning teaching.
