Galway is more than just a city, it’s a cultural heartbeat on Ireland’s west coast, where creativity, nature, and tradition come together to create an unforgettable learning environment.

From the moment you arrive, Galway welcomes you with its colourful streets, live music echoing from every corner, and an energy that’s both relaxed and full of life. It’s a place where learning goes beyond the classroom: into traditional music sessions in historic pubs, and into everyday moments filled with authenticity.

Whether you’re walking along the scenic Salthill Promenade, discovering medieval sites like the Spanish Arch, or exploring the dramatic landscapes of Connemara just outside the city, Galway offers the perfect backdrop to develop your teaching skills in English while being surrounded by Irish warmth and charm.

Our training programs in Galway are designed not just to teach, but to inspire. You’ll connect with fellow educators from around the world, exchange best practices, and return home with new ideas, renewed motivation, and memories rooted in one of Ireland’s most soulful cities.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which young people and adults acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and learning goals. This course is designed to introduce teachers to the principles of SEL, showing how these strategies can be applied in the classroom to empower students to improve their academic performance while decreasing stress and anxiety. As well as learning about SEL participants will have the opportunity to refresh their English language ability. By connecting with fellow educators from all over Europe, participants will benefit from sharing experiences and expertise. The mobility offers valuable networking opportunities for future collaboration between individuals and institutions. The course suits all teachers working in higher education, adult education, or vocational education.

25-hour course runs for 5 days, consisting of seminars, workshops and cultural activity hours.

The objectives of the course are:

  • To become familiar with the principles of SEL.
  • To learn how to implement these principles in different classroom contexts.
  • To understand the key features of selfmanagement.
